Day 1· Tue, Dec 29
Arrive at Galeão International Airport (GIG) and check in to Copa Sul on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. Rest off the holiday travel, then gather with the group for the Mastermind Dinner, the JetQuest tradition that opens every trip, this time with 2027 on the horizon.
Day 2· Wed, Dec 30
The icons. Take in Christ the Redeemer above the city and ride to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain for views over Rio, the bay, and the beaches. A full day of the sights that define the city, capped by a group dinner as Rio counts down to NYE.
Day 3 (NYE)· Thu, Dec 31
The reason you came. Two million people dressed in white on Copacabana Beach, fireworks launched from barges offshore, and the single most electric midnight in South America. All you have to do is show up in white and celebrate, JetQuest handles the rest.
Day 4· Fri, Jan 1
Ring in 2027 the Carioca way: a slow morning, brunch with the group, then a beach day on Ipanema and Arpoador. Sunset from the rocks, a relaxed evening, and time to actually feel the city you woke up in.
Day 5· Sat, Jan 2
A curated day blending Rio's culture and its coastline before heading into Lapa, the Arcos da Lapa, the samba halls, and the nightlife the city is famous for. The night closes with the Farewell Dinner, one last gathering to send the group off the way it came together.
Day 6· Sun, Jan 3
Breakfast and departures from Rio. You leave having started the new year somewhere most people only dream about, and with the people you rang it in beside.
Where you'll stay
We base out of Copa Sul Hotel on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana — 8.5/10 on Booking with a 9.4 location score, two blocks from Copacabana Beach and a short walk to Ipanema. Highlights: warm Carioca hospitality (9.0 staff rating), a wonderful buffet breakfast with seasonal fruits and fresh breads, the on-site Orla / Temperos restaurant serving Brazilian and international plates, an American bar, 24-hour front desk, room service, air conditioning, free WiFi, and walking distance to Arpoador and the Copacabana fireworks zone. Note: Copa Sul does not have a pool — the beach is the pool here.

Jonathon is the founder of JetQuest, a former corporate professional who walked away to build the travel club he wished existed. Equal parts host, connector, and operator, he has lived in Medellín, traveled to 30+ countries, and leads our founder-led experiences alongside a hand-picked team of JetQuest hosts and ambassadors.
