We stay at the Kimpton Vividora, tucked into the Gothic Quarter a few minutes from Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas. Highlights: a rooftop pool and terrace bar with old-city views, a garden courtyard restaurant, light-filled rooms, daily breakfast, a fitness studio, and everything walkable - El Born, La Boqueria and the cathedral are all minutes from the door.

In between there's a private boat to Formentera, a Café del Mar sunset and a farewell dinner up in the old town.
